WALK RIDE AND WINE...
TUSCANY, ITALY
Join this small group tour to Tuscany for an adventure of a lifetime. This one week holiday includes two days of hiking, three days of cycling, private wine and olive oil tastings, gourmet meals, spectacular accommodations, and breathtaking landscapes.
DAY 1 – Welcome to Italy – Florence and/or Rome
Following a private transfer from the airport, you will check in at your 4 or 5 star hotel in central Florence or Rome. You will have free time to relax, enjoy the city. Private walking tours can be arranged on request.

DAY 2– Cortona - Walk
After breakfast, a 2 hr transfer by private van and you’ll reach Terontola, where your first walk will start. While your baggage will be carried on to your hotel, you and your guide will climb up into the hills which offer stunning views of Lake Trasimeno and Cortona. The afternoon portion of the walk is more of a breeze, as you descend to to the hotel, which lies in the valley just below you. Tonight you’ll gather at the hotel restaurant for dinner.

Activity: Walking tour over Terontola to Lake Tasimeno and on to Piazzano (about 10 km)

DAY 3 – Montepulciano – Bike - Val D’Orcia
After breakfast, a quick transfer will take you where your biking day will start, while your luggage follows on to your hotel located in the center of the little town. Our ride will then take us through the sweeping Val d’Orcia and to the quaint town of San Quirico d’Orcia. We’ll continue our ride after passing by the village of Montichiello, where timing may prove it to be the ideal lunch break, before turning back to the hotel for some relaxation time before your dinner. Tonight, a walk into the cantina De Ricci for a great tasting of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, then dinner on your own at one of the fabulous restaurants in town.

DAY 4 –Montepulciano – Bike - Le Crete and Valdichiana
The second day of biking will take us from the hotel and to the town of Asciano and then towards the village of Montisi where we will have an exquisite light lunch prepared by Mr. Bindi, who is not only by one of Tuscany’s finest chefs, but also continuously produces and wins various awards and competitions for best olive oil in Italy. From here, bike back to the hotel into Montepulciano.

DAY 5 - Siena – Walk Val d’Arbia to Siena
Today our walk will take us to the city of Siena, hiking on rural paths through the rolling wheat fields and olive trees. You’ll walk on the ancient trails of Francigena route, used by pilgrims since the year 800 a.D. on their way to or from Rome. Our walk will start after a 50-min transfer in Monteroni D’Arbia. Your walk starts at Grancia di Cuna, by an old medieval walled barn and following never ending dirty roads you’ll admire the crests of Val D’Arbia. Picnic lunch will be served enroute. At some point Siena will appear on the horizon and you’ll soon reach the great city, entering from Porta Romana. Check in at your hotel, the rest of the day is for you to relax and enjoy the evening strolling casually in town.

DAY 6 – Siena – Bike - Chianti
Today you’ll embark on an exquisite loop ride through the rolling hills of Chianti, with its wooded groves and hilltop vineyards. You will bike touching post card picturesque villages, with plenty options for lunch. Back to Siena. Later in the day you meet your guide for a walking tour of this city. Set on three hills, the city is drawn together by winding alleyways and steep steps, whilst the Piazza del Campo stands at its heart, and the Duomo and St Maria della Scala serve as additional cultural landmarks.

DAY 7 - Departure
A private transfer will take you to the Florence airport for you flight back home.
